Halloween Dental Care Tips
We want to make sure that you’re aware of the dental issues attributed to sugar intake and how you can reduce the impact. Of course, the best way to prevent cavities is to brush after meals and especially after enjoying yummy treats. You can continue to educate your children about oral health after Halloween by celebrating National Brush Day on November 1. Come to a family agreement that they’ll brush 2 minutes, three times a day, every day, and show them how to brush their teeth properly.
- Place the toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to the gums.
- Gently move the brush back and forth in short (tooth-wide) strokes.
- Brush the outer, inner and chewing surfaces of the teeth.
- Tilt the brush vertically and make several up-and-down strokes to clean the inside surfaces of the front teeth.
- Brush the tongue to remove bacteria.
In addition, regularly scheduled dental hygiene appointments will keep you and your children smiling through Halloween and beyond.
